91ÊÓÆµÍø Perth strengthens leadership team with several new appointments
including Interim Principal and Chief Executive and Interim Finance Director
The 91ÊÓÆµÍø Perth Board of Management is pleased to announce a range of new appointments to its senior leadership team that will support the college in navigating the challenging environment facing the sector and enable it to continue to provide the highest quality learning experience for its students.
With recruitment for a permanent Principal and Chief Executive ongoing, Ms Catherine Etri has been appointed as Interim Principal and Chief Executive, effective from Thursday 29 May 2025, for an initial period of six months. Catherine brings over three decades of experience in further and higher education, along with a strong background in senior leadership, governance and advisory roles. Her previous work includes senior roles within 91ÊÓÆµÍø Perth and contributions to Education Scotland and the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA).
Alistair Wylie, Interim Chair of 91ÊÓÆµÍø Perth’s Board of Management, said:

Further enhancing the senior leadership team, the board is pleased to welcome Professor Jane Lewis in her capacity as 91ÊÓÆµÍø’s Vice-Principal for Strategic Projects, who has joined the 91ÊÓÆµÍø Perth senior leadership team on a temporary, part-time, basis to offer additional capacity, support and advice. Jane is an experienced academic and was previously Pro Vice-Chancellor and Dean at the University of Westminster.
To provide additional support to 91ÊÓÆµÍø Perth in addressing some of the financial challenges facing the college, Fiona Cameron will take up the position of Interim Finance Director, effective Monday 9 June 2025.
Fiona is an ACCA-qualified accountant with over 20 years of experience in professional finance environments during which time she has held Director of Finance and other senior leadership roles.
She will be supported by Phil McNaull, who has been working with 91ÊÓÆµÍø Perth over the past several weeks. As an independent financial consultant and Finance Director with extensive experience in the higher education sector, Phil has been assisting in the development of 91ÊÓÆµÍø Perth’s financial recovery plan and providing guidance to both the senior leadership team and the board.

“The board remains committed to working closely with the senior leadership team, 91ÊÓÆµÍø, and our partners to ensure we are making informed and constructive decisions that support a positive and sustainable future.”
During this period of change for the leadership of 91ÊÓÆµÍø Perth, the Board of Management also wishes to announce the forthcoming retirement of Mr Lorenz Cairns, Depute Principal Academic. Lorenz has formally notified us of his intention to retire and will continue in his role during his six-month notice period.
